I love the idea of "Open Art Room" because it allows the students to express themselves even more. Personally "Open Art Room" let me see who I am as an artist and express myself through my work. Being able to choose what we do has helped me discover what mediums I like to use and what kind of art I enjoy. Having more options allows me to open my mind and really be creative. I have definitely improved as an artist.
Which medium did you most enjoy working with and why? I enjoyed working with the dye to tie dye my headband. I have always loved tie dye and this was a fun way to take a blank canvas and bring it to life with color. Which medium did you not use but wish you had explored? I wish I had explored with using clay a little bit. I feel that being able to create something else using a block of clay is really cool and it can lead to all sorts of creative things.
If given the opportunity, which project would you do over? If I had the opportunity to redo a project I would redo the perspective project. The project was supposed to represent what fuels me and the end result did not represent that very well. Instead I would draw something more meaningful than a simple bed. I would probably draw something that has to do with summer because summer motivates and fuels me. I would also use a different medium like paint.
What is a technique you used in your artwork that worked well? To shade my Two in One project I used a tortillion. I like the way I could use the tortillion to shade the different mediums but still make the colors blend. The tortillion also helped me even out the shading I did with my pencil. I would definitely use it again because it makes it a lot easier to shade.
